Climate and HAZ in Tumbes. Units for y-axis: height-for-age Z-score (HAZ), sea surface temperature (SST, degrees Celsius), minimum and maximum temperatures (degrees Celsius), and precipitation (mm). Precipitation and temperature data for Tumbes for 1991–2001 were obtained from the Peruvian National Weather Service (SENAMHI). SST data were obtained from the International Institute of Climate and Society (IRI).
