A summary of the factors that affect transmission of UVR in terrestrial and aquatic environments (see the section “Ultraviolet radiation” for details). In aquatic environments where amphibians reproduce and develop, UVR has the potential to interact with a range of environmental factors including temperature, aquatic pH, aquatic hypoxia, pathogens (such as the chytrid fungus), conspecific density and predation (see the section “Interactive effects of UVR with other environmental factors” for details).
